Help & FAQ

Welcome to Planet Q TV - Celebrating the Gay and Lesbian World thru Video. Here is a short Help and FAQ page to answer your most common questions. If you do not find the answer to your immediate needs, please email us at: customerservice@planetq.tv.

1. What is Planet Q TV?

Planet Q TV is a video sharing website where professionals, amateurs and people from around the globe can upload and watch videos that cater to the worldwide gay and lesbian community. The goal of the website is to provide a destination source for LGBT videos.

2. How can I be apart of the Planet Q TV community?

Being apart of our community is easy. The first step is to become a member by clicking on the "sign up" link that is at the top of the home page. By entering a confirmed email address, you can become a member of our community, upload your picture and enter information into your profile that will let people know a little about yourself and your interest.

3. Can I upload any kind of video that I want?

Yes and no. You can submit just about any kind of video you want, as long as you're the creator. If you own the copyright to the video, you are the content producer or owner of the video, if you have made the video yourself - then by all means you can upload it to our website. If you didn't make that latest Madonna video and you don't have written permission to upload the video, then sorry you cannot upload it to our servers. We can't accept anything illegal or obscene or similarly objectionable, including content that contains hate speech, infringes copyright, and/or violates personal privacy or obscenity laws and/or which we deem inappropriately offensive. In addition, we are not an adult website - so no adult video content will be allowed. Sexy videos are fine - pornography is not.

At Planet Q TV, we staunchly support copyright laws. Our mission and business is firmly rooted in the idea that artists deserve to control and be rewarded from their intellectual property. We also believe strongly in the protections provided by the doctrine of Fair Use, which is part of US copyright law, and to comparable protections provided under the copyright laws in other jurisdictions. While it is impossible to draw a hard and fast line between what is Fair Use and what is not, we understand that we are living in a remix culture and we support an open media environment that allows creators to lawfully build on the work of earlier creators.

We accept the following formats: MOV, MPEG, MPG, MP4, WMV, ASF, AVI (including DIVX)

4. Is there a limit to the number of videos I can upload or its length?

You may upload as many videos as you like. The limit is 10 minutes or roughly 100MB. Official content producers and regular contributors can upload up to 20 minute videos or 200MB.

5. How can I be a Official Content Producer or regular contributor?

We are always looking for individuals, couples, partners, businesses or anyone who likes to make videos catered to our community. If you are interested in being apart of our content producers program, email the owners of the website, Thomas or Adrian at: customerservice@planetq.tv.. They will be glad to give you all of the information and to bring you on board.

6. Where is my video after I uploaded it and is it easy to upload?

Uploading videos is really easy - you follow a three step process. Name your video, add tags to your video, add a short description to your video (that is step 1), pick a category you would like your video to appear in (that is step 2) and then find your video on your computer (using the browse button), and click upload (that is step 3).

Once you have uploaded a video and added the appropriate info (title, keywords etc.), you will see a screen come up that says "your video is processing." Depending on the size of the video, this will take a few minutes. Once your video is done processing, it will become publicly available within minutes. Within 24 hours your video will be reviewed by a member of our staff. If your video violates our terms of service, it will be removed with no notice to you. Occasionally, there is an error during processing. If your video fails, we recommend checking the size and format of your video and uploading it again. If re-uploading doesn’t work, or if you have any questions regarding the status of your video, please contact us.

7. What is fraudulent tagging and why has my tagging information changed?

Fraudulent tagging is a term used for the practice of adding popular but irrelevant metadata (keywords, description, etc.) to a video in order to draw more traffic. This activity is not allowed and we reserve the right to remove any non-relevant tags. Fraudulent tagging makes it difficult for viewers to find the videos they are looking for and diminishes the Planet Q TV experience for everyone. If you are suspected of fraudulent tagging, your account may be suspended or we will change the tagging information on your video. Please use only relevant information to describe your videos as this will improve the searchability of the entire network.

8. How long will my videos be stored?

Your videos will remain on Planet Q TV's servers as long as they generate a reasonable amount of activity. You can remove them from the system at any time. If your video does not generate any significant traffic or activity, we reserve the right to remove the video to conserve on space and allow other users to upload their content. We will archive your video for later use if necessary.
